Mallnitz is one of the most scenic nature hiking regions in the Alps and also the birthplace of alpinism because mountaineering already took off here back in 1762 with the ascent of the Ankogel. There is so much to experience right up to an altitude of 3,000 meters. From a leisurely hut hike along 180 km of trails to high extreme alpine mountaineering in summer. Or from skiing, snowboarding and freeride fun on over 100 km of slopes in top skiing areas such as the Ankogel and Mölltaler Glacier to more than 50 km of cross-country ski trails or snowshoe hikes in winter.
The region is the ideal starting point for countless recreational and sporting activities.

Skiing
Ankogel
The traditional alpine ski mountain Ankogel has become a coveted insider tip for freeriders. No surprise, given the deep snow slopes glistening in the sun high above the "pearl of the National Park" - the mountaineering village of Mallnitz. Carinthia's longest descent with guaranteed snow and extra-wide powder-snow pistes, varied freeride terrain, and new, enchanting programs are sure to delight visitors here, in the heart of the National Park's magnificent nature.

The Glacier-Express and the Eisseebahn transport you comfortably up to the Eissee panorama restaurant in the middle of Carinthia's only glacier skiing area. Whether you wish to enjoy a
meal or a drink on the gorgeous sun terrace or take the chairlift up to the summit (3,122 m):
the Mölltal Glacier is always a highlight of every vacation!

Cross-Country skiing
Cross-country skiing - the most elegant way to experience the Hohe Tauern National Park around Mallnitz in winter. The trails in our Alpine Pearls community are certified with the Carinthian Cross-Country Skiing Seal of Approval, and therefore count among the best. They guide you through the fantastic winter world of the Seebach and Tauern valleys.
Every cross-country skier, from beginner to expert level is sure to find the
ideal tracks on over 50 kilometers of trails (25 km classic and 25 km skating).

Skitouring Paradise Mallnitz – Variety in the Heart of the Hohe Tauern
Skitourers will find four diverse skitouring areas in Mallnitz: the Tauern Valley, the Ankogel Group, the Dösental Valley, and the Häusleralm. This wide range of tours allows skiers to choose the perfect route depending on snow conditions, fitness level, and experience – from enjoyable scenic tours to demanding alpine challenges.
The Ankogel Group is particularly captivating. Tours lead up to the Mallnitzer Tauern, a historic alpine crossing, offering spectacular views into the neighboring province of Salzburg. A popular challenge for experienced skitourers is the Kleiner Ankogel – short, steep, and impressive, starting directly from the mountain station.
For beginners and leisure skitourers, the Häusleralm provides ideal conditions. Its safe and manageable terrain makes it perfect for enjoying skitouring in a relaxed and secure environment.

Grander Water
The knowledge concerning the (healing) powers contained in water is ancient! This is proved by innumerable myths and stories from ancient cultures. Johann Grander - "inventor" of the eponymous water - recognized more than 30 years ago how important it is to treat nature and the element of water with respect. His reasoning was based on the fact that the condition of water is crucial for our well-being and the conservation of the entire ecosystem.
His goal was to transfer the properties of revitalized water - with all its positive effects on people, animals and plants - to all water, for the benefit of everyone who drinks or uses it in everyday life. Through years of research and experimentation, Johann Grander concluded that water has the ability to transfer information. This information transfer from water to water represents a physical uniqueness and was made usable by Johann Grander for the first time in this form.
